Welcome to the Judicial Arbiter Group. As one of the oldest, most successful private judicial services in the country, JAG continues to provide the legal and business communities with cost effective, efficient dispute resolution programs. Mediations, Arbitrations, Mock Jury Trials, Focus Groups and Discovery Management are the primary services offered by JAG. JAG is composed exclusively of former trial and appellate Judges, each of whom were distinguished leaders and Judges during service on the bench. Each Judge brings to JAG a commitment to case resolution based upon a depth of knowledge and experience with litigants and the legal process. Founded in 1984 in Boulder, Colorado by former Chief District Judge, Richard W. Dana and 20th Judicial District Administrator, Jerry D. Lockwood, JAG leadership was soon expanded to include former Colorado Supreme Court Justice William Neighbors.

In 2011 the leadership of JAG transitioned to former Judges William Meyer and Sanford Brook who continue the tradition of quality in all forms of effective dispute resolution services. JAG now boasts a professional staff of twenty-six Arbiters, all former trial and appellate judges, representing several regions of the country. In 2010 JAG was retained to handle nearly 2000 new cases ranging from half day mediations to multi week binding arbitrations. Tens of thousands of individuals and businesses have benefited from the effective alternative dispute resolution services offered by JAG. Each year JAG arbiters assist litigants in resolving all forms of disputes in the class and single party context, including commercial, construction, environmental, products liability, personal injury, wrongful death, utility, securities, professional malpractice, domestic relations, estate and employment matters. |
In addition to providing traditional alternative dispute resolution methods, JAG arbiters also conduct mock appellate arguments and review; serve in court-appointed functions such as receivers, liquidators, trustees, special masters and statutorily appointed judges; and, conduct mock jury trials and focus groups. |
