Anthony F. Vollack was Chief Justice of the Colorado Supreme Court. He was appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court by Governor Richard Lamm, and was sworn in on February 3, 1986, after having served nine years as a District Judge in the First Judicial District (Jefferson and Gilpin Counties). He was named Chief Justice by his fellow Justices in July 1995.
Prior to his appointment to the bench, Vollack practiced law in the Denver/Golden area for twenty-one years during which time he also served as State Senator for Jefferson County (1964-68) and Jefferson and Adams Counties (1968-72), and Deputy District Attorney for the First Judicial District (1960-61). He was the recipient of the First Judicial District Bar Association's 1994 Award of Merit, and the National Center for State Courts' Paul C. Reardon Award for Judicial Docket Management.

He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association (Board of Governors 1977-79), First Judicial Bar Association (President 1976-77) and Denver Bar Association. He was a member of the Colorado Council of Trial Judges (President 1983-84) and District Judges Association (President 1982-83).
Vollack received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Colorado State University (1951), served in the United States Air Force (1951-53) and LL.B from the University of Denver Law School (1956). He is married with two children, a daughter and a son. |
